It is no secret that the performance of a piston engine greatly depends on accurate fuel supply. When it comes to the electronic fuel injection system, its settings have to be adapted to constant engine characteristics (displacement, compression ratio, the presence of a forced induction system, exhaust configuration, and some others) and several variable parameters such as the positions of the crankshaft and throttle, air rarefaction in the intake manifold, and signals coming from the oxygen sensor. Once any of the constant factors are changed due to engine modifications, it’s recommended to reconsider fuel supply and, probably, change its adjustments.
