Bluetooth Powersports Helmets

If you’re like many riders, getting on your powersports machine is a respite from the stress of everyday life, a therapeutic activity that rejuvenates the spirit, and when riding your ATV, UTV or snowmobile the only thing you want to communicate with is nature, and the only sound you want to hear is the roar of the engine. Even so, we’re betting there’s been more than a few times you wanted to call someone, maybe to share something you saw or experienced, but didn’t want to stop riding to use your phone, or thought of a song that would be the perfect accompaniment to the scenery. With one of our Bluetooth helmets you can make calls and listen to music while riding, and much more. And when you’re traveling with a group of riders similarly equipped, it’s much easier to share points of interest, warn others of hazards, or just let everyone know you want to take a break, rather than trying to communicate with hand signals.

A Bluetooth headset includes a microphone, speakers, and a control module that can be easily operated with gloves. The headset can be wirelessly connected to your smartphone, GPS, iPod or MP3 player so you can make hands-free calls, listen to your favorite tunes, and get spoken directions. Some Bluetooth units can be paired with a number of other headsets, enabling communication with a passenger, and other riders within a certain range. We offer several ways to get Bluetooth connectivity. By far the easiest way to be get connected and be informed and entertained is with a Bluetooth equipped helmet that comes with a Bluetooth headset pre-installed. A Bluetooth equipped helmet comes with built-in speakers, microphone, control module and battery for an integrated appearance. While features may vary according to manufacturer, they can include easy smartphone app configuration, noise cancelling microphone, voice command capability, audible battery level info, audio multitasking that allows you to listen to music and have conversations at the same time, and more.

However, if you have your own preferences for helmet brand and model and Bluetooth headset, we offer an extensive selection of Bluetooth compatible helmets. Several of our Bluetooth helmet brands have worked with well-known Bluetooth communications systems providers and configured their helmets to make installation of their systems simple and straightforward. There are cutouts for the installation of the speakers and microphone, and a recess for the control module. Other brands have taken a more universal approach and provided speaker and microphone pockets, but for use with an externally mounted control module that clips on or attaches to the helmet with double-sided tape. If you want a Bluetooth helmet you’re not restricted to a certain style - you’ll find full face, modular, dual sport, open face, and even half shell helmets in our Bluetooth collection. Our Bluetooth equipped open face and half helmets feature concealed microphones and speakers.

A helmet’s primary purpose is protection, and no matter whether you choose one of our Bluetooth equipped or Bluetooth compatible helmets, you’ll be getting a helmet that will do the job and be comfortable to wear. Bluetooth helmet sizes range from youth small to men’s and women’s 5X-Large, in round oval, intermediate oval, and long oval helmet shapes. All are DOT (Department of Transportation) certified and completely legal for use on U.S. highways, and some have ECE (Economic Commission for Europe) certification and/or Snell Memorial Foundation approval. A Bluetooth helmet consists of a thermoplastic, fiberglass, or composite shell designed to spread an impact over a broad area, an energy absorbing EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) foam liner, and interior padding that forms the comfort liner.

Most less expensive helmets are made of thermoplastics like ABS or polycarbonate. These helmets are strong and perfectly safe, but with this construction they must be made heavier with thicker EPS to achieve the proper level of safety. Fiberglass and fiberglass composite are stronger and very good at distributing force upon impact and therefore fiberglass helmets can be made lighter. Top of the line Kevlar and carbon fiber composite helmets are extremely strong and can be made even lighter in weight, but they’re generally the most expensive. Helmets constructed with any of these materials will provide protection in the unfortunate event of a crash, but a lighter helmet will put much less strain on your neck and be more comfortable to wear than a heavier one, especially on long rides.

When you want relief from sun glare, many of our Bluetooth helmets have a lever-operated internal sun visor that can be lowered to cover your eyes and returned to its recess within the helmet when it’s not needed. An enclosed full face, modular, or dual sport Bluetooth helmet will help keep your head warm so you can be comfortable in colder weather, but when the temperature drops, shield fogging and the dangerous impaired vision that ensues becomes a problem. Some helmets have face shields with an anti-fog coating while others come with shields that are set-up for an anti-fog Pinlock® shield. The Pinlock absorbs moisture and forms an insulating layer of air inside the shield, which prevents fogging. Many helmets also have chin vents to help prevent fogging as well as provisions that allow the shield to be opened just a crack for defogging from outside air, and some come with breath guards to deflect hot breath away from the shield.

For comfort at the opposite temperature extreme, all our full face, modular, and dual sport Bluetooth helmets, and many of our open face and half shell Bluetooth helmets have built-in vents to provide cooling flow-through ventilation. These vents can be opened and closed on most helmets for temperature control. The helmet’s comfort liner, the padded layer that contacts your head, is made of open cell foam covered with fabric. Some helmet liner fabrics are moisture wicking to increase your comfort level and some liners are antimicrobial to keep odors at bay. However, any fabric that’s continually exposed to perspiration and the oils from your hair and skin is going to get funky after a while, but with the removable and washable liners that are a feature in many of our Bluetooth helmets, it’s easy to make the inside of the helmet clean and fresh again. Some helmet makers also offer cheek pads in different sizes so you can customize fit and comfort.
