Whether you hit the road, track, dirt, snow, or water to get your adrenaline rush, first, you need to power your machine with one of our high-quality powersports batteries. They are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and heavy use helping you to tackle rugged terrains and perform better and longer during cold seasons. No matter whether you ride an ATV, side-by-side, personal watercraft, or snowmobile, your machine needs the electrical energy for starting its motor and providing power for external lights, horns, navigation systems, and other accessories when the engine is not running. This energy is stored in a battery to be used when needed.
The service life of all batteries is limited. It depends on the regularity of use, battery type, its size, construction, temperature, and the field of application. Generally, it is recommended to replace your battery once in about 5 years. Any battery lasts longer when used frequently. It is designed for cycles of charging and discharging. When you put your ATV or watercraft for wintertime storage, or park your snowmobile for the off-season, to prolong the service life of your battery, take it out from the machine and connect it to a charging and storing battery management system.
In the “store” mode, our universal automatic chargers simulate frequent battery use. You can select the “full charge” mode to charge your battery completely before installing it back into the machine. Advanced versions of battery management systems can even provide diagnostics to each battery cell and ensure its optimal performance and longevity. To help you start your machine in extremely cold weather conditions, we can offer a range of battery heaters. When plugged into a wall, such a device emits moderate heat that intensifies chemical reaction inside the battery needed for producing electrical current. Our dual battery kits allow you to utilize two batteries – one for cranking the engine, and the other for powering your accessories.
When it is time to replace your battery, choose the type of the battery that is recommended by the manufacturer of your machine. First of all, it must have the right terminals and fit the dedicated compartment. Second, you should check cold cranking and amp-hour ratings of the new battery to be sure that you can start your engine even in extremely cold weather conditions. Depending on their architecture, all powersports batteries offered in our store can be sorted into three main categories: traditional lead-acid, sealed, and lithium batteries. While wet lead-acid batteries are the most affordable, they require some attention and maintenance and can be installed only vertically to prevent spills of electrolyte.
Sealed VRLA (Valve-regulated lead-acid) batteries are maintenance-free and can be mounted in any orientation. Thanks to AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology, these batteries feature more compact design. They are more reliable than their traditional lead-acid counterparts and can withstand vibration and minor shocks better. The third category is the Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. They are lightweight and reliable and provide high cranking amps and long service life while having almost no self-discharge. It makes them perfect for high-performance applications and extended off-season storage periods. Li-ion batteries don’t contain corrosive liquids. Note that such a battery can be damaged if you try to charge it with an external charger or maintainer designed for traditional lead-acid batteries. Use only specified chargers for Li-ion batteries.
