A crankshaft is one of the main parts of the engine’s rotating assembly, which is responsible for transferring power from the piston(s) to the gearbox. The crank rotates at high speed while being subjected to great stresses, so it has to meet certain requirements. Featuring a cranked design, which differs depending on the engine type (V-shaped, inline, etc.), it has to be strong enough. Usually, this part is made of high-quality cast iron or forged steel, which undergoes special treatment. Also, the crank features high precision to avoid abnormal wear, vibration, and knocking noises.
One of the main issues that can occur during the operation of any engine is friction, and engine bearings along with motor oil are meant to address it, at least partly. Some engines use plain bearings, others employ roller or ball bearings, and all of them have their own pros and cons. For instance, plain bearings usually require higher oil pressure and are less resistant to oil starvation. In its turn, motor oil used in the engine has to feature proper viscosity, which was specially selected taking into account the tolerances of the given motor.
A crank itself, bearings, and oil seals have to be of high quality, and our online store carries a wide selection of these products. The difference between the good parts and the new yet inferior ones is often invisible; you're unlikely to be able to check the steel or rubber composition to evaluate the quality of these components, so it's a matter of reputation and trust earned by manufacturers that produce these parts. For you to end up with reliable crankshafts and related components, we source them from some of the most reputable companies, so these products are made to provide long-lasting and trouble-free operation.
