Powersports Drive Belts & Pulleys

Inspecting your drive belt and knowing when to change it will keep you from getting stranded when mudding or cruising along a casual trail ride. It's a part of the belt-drive system which transfers power from the motor. There are a number of reasons for replacement, which are not always easy to see. For instance, if you experience a lag between when you hit the gas and when your powersports vehicle accelerates, you probably have to replace your drive belt. A visual inspection is also useful. It can often show uneven wear, frayed edges, etc.

The majority of modern ATVs and UTVs are equipped with completely automatic transmissions. As all of them feature the belt-drive system and therefore, a drive belt, aftermarket manufacturers provide a huge range of replacement belts. They are available in different lengths and designs to suit different applications. So when choosing the replacement component for your powersports vehicle, you should consider a number of factors like its width, length, and strength. Some products feature a universal fit for most models.

As a belt is the only connection between the motor and drivetrain, it plays a crucial role in your ATV's/UTV’s performance and its wear cannot be neglected. Whether you ride your powersports vehicle every day or it is stored in the garage most of the time, it might appear your belt still requires replacement because of cracks caused by oxidation. When it is high time you replaced this component, keep in mind that the belt-drive system also includes drive pulleys which guarantee smooth belt running. Typically there are two pulleys: smaller (on the left) and bigger (on the right). They are recommended to be replaced along with the belt.
